Day 1

Well, I officially started on my Medifast plan today.  The 3 "meals"  I've had so far are tolerable, although I wouldn't say they are the most amazing things I' ever tasted.  I will say that they do keep you feeling full, at least up to this point.  I had apple cinnamon oatmeal for breakfast, a caramel bar for my midmorning snack, and a strawberry cream shake for lunch.  For dinner we are having steak (6 ounces) and some salad (romaine lettuce).

As you can see, I haven't done well since June on my own and now I need to lose an extra 10 pounds.  Oh well, this should do the trick if I stick to it.  I plan on sticking to it this time.

I hope to lose about 3 pounds a week on average.  I'd love to lose it faster but I'm trying to be a realist.  Maybe by this spring...

One last fling....

Well, I am in Chicago trying not to overdo it on stuffed pizza as I get ready to start on my diet/"life-style change" as soon as we get back. I just want to be thin again. I just want to actually look like what I think I look like (because I still think of myself looking like I did 20 years ago). Well three more days...

Well, that was a failure.

So, it's been about 4 months and I've gained about 6 pounds.  So much for sticking with the program.  Well, it's time to start up again.  This time I'm going to try something I've never done before.  I'm going to try out the Simple2Lose diet plan that uses Medifast meals and then transitions you into a healthy diet.  I've read a bit about it and it seems to be a fairly severe low calorie diet for the first month, and you have to buy their food for a month, but taken as a whole it is considered to be one of the most cost effective weight loss plans available.  It also seems medically safe and sound.  I am not sure how I will work around our trip to Chicago in a couple of weeks, perhaps I won't actually start until then.  For now, I have just given them my information.  I wait for them to call and get things all set up.

We will see how things go....

Sticking with it.

Well,I thought that this was going to be some spectacular week in weight loss history. I dropped 6 pound in 2 days. Then nothing for the last 2 days. I have been watching my diet, eating vegetables, salads, and cutting way back on carbs. I have been getting exercise. Realistically I know that losing 6 pounds in a week is great and I will be happy losing 3 pounds each week, but I hopefully will see some progress soon so I don't get discouraged so early on. Oh well, I think the first 2 weeks are by far the hardest.

Time to get serious.

I'm tired of being overweight.  I hate how I look and know I could feel better, plus I'm at the age where things start to fall apart and I don't want to hasten the process.  So I will use this site as my motivation to stay on task, eat better and exercise.  No excuses.  Anyone who wants can track my progress.  I hope people will help keep me accountable.

My goal is 40 pounds.  We'll see how long it takes.
